Dormant companies and non-operating holding companies within the wider corporate structure are not included as they do not undertake trading activities or maintain operational supply chains.

We recognise that modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking and exploitation are serious violations of fundamental human rights. While the nature of our business means our direct exposure to these risks is relatively low, we understand risks can still exist within supply chains, outsourced services, recruitment practices, learner placements and wider partner networks.

As a national education, skills, employability and workforce development provider, protecting people is central to our culture and purpose. Our safeguarding, ethical conduct and responsible procurement practices all contribute to helping identify, prevent and address exploitation.

Our approach is proportionate and risk-based. We:

• Maintain policies relating to safeguarding, whistleblowing, recruitment and ethical conduct.
• Take a proportionate approach to supplier due diligence and responsible procurement.
• Include consideration of safeguarding, ethical conduct and ESG practices within supplier onboarding and review processes.
• Encourage colleagues, learners, suppliers and partners to raise concerns where inappropriate, unethical or potentially exploitative behaviour is suspected.
• Review and strengthen our approach over time as part of our wider ESG and responsible business commitments.

We recognise the important link between safeguarding, learner wellbeing and the prevention of exploitation. We are committed to creating an environment where concerns can be raised confidently and addressed appropriately.

We expect the organisations we work with to share our commitment to responsible and ethical business practices and to uphold the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 within their own operations and supply chains.
